Dozens enter next event in first week

There has been a record number of teams entering the next Apex Challenge event after entries opened only a week ago. More than a third of the places in the Overnight Challenge have already been claimed.

It's one of the biggest events in the Scouting calendar and this year the competition takes place in a newly enlarged playing area at Sherwood Pines Forest Park on the weekend of 10th - 11th April 2010.

The extra space has made it possible to increase the event capacity, so with 75 teams now able to take part we're expecting up to 300 Explorers and Network members from right across the UK at what is widely regarded as one of the top events of its kind in the country.

Expect more than a dozen exciting and challenging activities including the event's biggest ever inflatable assault course and an exhilarating high level ropes course alongside many other bizarre and extreme challenges.

Entry is in teams of four and works out at just £12.50 per person for a team of four, including all food, camp fees and activities making the event incredible value for money.
Check out the event details for more information, then gather together your team of four and enter online before the event fills up. You won't be disappointed!

This intense activity will make up just one of fourteen exciting activities which teams will face as they make their way around Sherwood Forest, gathering those crucial Apex Points right through the night.

Other confirmed activites include climbing, mountain biking, assault courses and a taxing high ropes course.

Enter your teams online now for this extended event. With 75 teams due to take part from across the UK, it really will be the biggest Apex ever!

Bigger area for Overnight Challenge

This year’s Apex Overnight Challenge will be using a brand new extended area of Sherwood Pines, bringing even more acres of adventure to this landmark event.

A specially designed new map is to be used, showing all the updated features of this unique forest park. This means that for the first time the competition will be making use of a whole new area of woodland, open ground, ponds, streams and bridges. It paves the way for some great new activities to test teams to the limit.

Already we’re hoping to bring some fresh new challenges to this year's competition as well as adding new twists to the classic favourites. The new area means there’s plenty of potential to be finding yourself climbing, biking, dangling, bouncing and paddling to collect those crucial Apex points.

More than 250 Explorers and Network members are expected at this national adventure competition. Make sure you’re there – this will definitely be one you won’t want to miss.
