Register for the next event now!

Now is the time to get yourself and your team-mates signed up for the Apex Challenge. Our next event is on the weekend of 4-6 October and it is certainly one you won't want to miss.

We are heading to a brand new area, a tough military training area near York, and this extreme environment will bring a string of new challenges to the weekend-long adventure competition.

And there's even better news! This year we've changed the entry system to hopefully make it simpler and less stressful to enter.

From now until 8pm on Friday 13 September the online entry form will be live for you to enter your details, but not yet pay for your entry. An unlimited number of teams will be able to pre-register their details during this time. If you would like to take part in the event you must pre-register by 8pm on Friday 13 September.

Then at 10am on Saturday 14 September teams will be able to log in and pay for their places. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis as teams pay for their places.

Full details including directions, costs and kit lists are online now.

So over the next few days, grab your mates, sort your teams and enter your details on the website. The more information you can fill in at this stage, the quicker it will be for you to confirm your place on September 14.

The countdown to the next event has now begun. We look forward to seeing you there!

"Wear it Out" competition returns!

Over the next few months we want to see where you've been wearing your bright pink Apex Challenge t-shirts - and wearing yours in an unusual or extreme place could earn you a top prize.

Almost every competitor and many of the helpers at this year's two Apex Challenge events took home one of the eye-catching pink 2013 t-shirts, and many are now being worn across the UK and beyond.

We've heard about them being spotted at major UK camps, on European city breaks and even on mountain expeditions in the Himalayas.

So where have you been wearing yours, or where could you take it next?

Send us your pictures of your wearing your Apex Challenge 2013 T-shirt in an unusual, extreme or interesting place and we'll add it to our online gallery. At the end of the year we'll get a panel of top judges to decide who's the winner - and that person will receive a top prize.

You can email your pictures to us or add them to our Facebook gallery at:

If you weren't able to get your own t-shirt at the last event, you will still be able to buy them for just £7 at our next event in October. But if you can't wait until then, you can have one sent directly to you within days for just £7 + £2 P+P - email us for details.

So get packing the pink shirts, and wearing them on your travels. We look forward to seeing where your adventures have taken you!

Pushing the boundaries of adventure

Are you ready for our toughest ever Apex Challenge event? This year we are heading to a secure military training facility which will give the competition a whole new feel. With brand new challenges and various twists along the way, this will be an incredible weekend of adventure which will test you to the limit.

Your team will face a range of new and demanding activities while navigating through a spectacular area of moorland, marshland, ravines and forests which is not normally open to the public.

Generations of the best UK soldiers have honed their skills on Strensall Common. Now it's time for you and your mates to join them at this intensive adventure weekend. It's all happening on the 4th-6th October 2013 and teams of Explorers and those in Scout Network will be joining us from across the UK.

During the competition you can expect to face a series of activities, while camping as part of the Apex Challenge community in this unique location. The challenges could include climbing, mountain biking, and completing tough assault courses as you race against hundreds of others to collect Apex points and try to win the big prizes.

Full event details are now on our website, as well as information about the brand new entry system, which should make entering our events even easier and considerably less stressful than before.

So join us in October for this demanding adventure challenge weekend. We can't wait to see you there!
