Been there, done that, got the t-shirt

This is your first look at the new Apex Challenge t-shirt for 2008. Our team of designers were so pleased with last year's they decided to come up with this new version.

The design shows a broken up version of the now famous Apex Challenge logo in a series of circles. It's printed in white ink on a "cedar" red top. On the reverse is a simple "Apex 08 Join The Adventure" symbol, again in white print.

Only those taking part in our 2008 competitions will be able to get hold of these t-shirts. In the past almost all the teams have been wearing them and many Scouts say they enjoy wearing them at other events for many months afterwards as well.

Pre-order yours when you enter. They're still just £5 each. If you have already registered your team for the event without pre-ordering one then please contact us. There'll be one or two spares available on the day, but to avoid disappointment make sure you pre-order yours on your team's online entry form.

We're able to offer you them at the fantastic price of just £5 thanks to Shawcross Printers of Wakefield who have agreed to make them up for us at a special rate. For technical reasons exact colour and design may vary slightly from those shown on computer graphics. Sizes described on the entry form are approximate.

Something old, something new

Plans for the Overnight Challenge next month are now coming together and we can reveal details of something old making a return and something new we're hoping to try for the first time. There'll also be more activity bases than ever before.

There should be 16 main activity bases to complete during six hours out in the darkness of Sherwood Pines Forest Park on the weekend of the 10th and 11th May. Making a return after several events away will be the legendary Apex Challenge lawnmower racing. It's always a favourite, so if you're never had chance to try it now's your chance.

We're also hoping to have big changes in the way the event is scored. For the first time we're planning to introduce a new electronic system for collecting your points. It'll mean no more control cards and little orange clips. Instead you'll carry a special token that you put into computerised boxes to record where you've been.

It should mean we can tell you in far more detail where you've been and when, and how fast you've managed to navigate your way around.

Don't miss out on your chance to take part. Teams are already entering from across the UK and the sooner your place is confirmed, the better start time you'll have at the event. Entry is in teams of four and works out at just £10 per person for a team of four, including all food, camp fees and activities - meaning it's great value to take part.

Check out the event details for more information, then gather together your team of four and enter online before the event fills up. You won't be disappointed!
